Training volume
Training volume is how much work you do, based on a stated measure.
Training volume: a practical example
For example, three sets of eight reps is 24 repetitions; multiplying by the load gives a different volume measure.
Use it in your log
When you log your workout, keep this in mind: a volume number needs a definition. Sets, reps and weight moved are not interchangeable measures.
Next, use the workout log to keep names, weights and reps in one place. Then check your progress across sessions.
